It's a short one today because I'm heading to Oracle. A very quick recap of last night's loss, then a brief look at today's matchup, which is followed by a very homerish Safe Bet of the Day™.  Todays' song is by Sabrina Carpenter called "Looking at Me". You can look at me in sec. 304.  I'm off.  Go Gigantes!

Good morning and welcome back to AM in the AM. San Francisco Giants pre-game podcast. Bring you previews, projections, and predictions before every Giants game. Good morning and welcome back into the pod. It is Wednesday morning, April 6th, and this is gonna be a quick one today because I am prepping to go to the game today. I gotta catch that fairy in about an hour. So, quickly, the recap of last night's game: another loss for the Giants, another loss for the safe bed of the day, which I thought we had. It was four to one after three. And who would have known that Logan Webb? I hear he has a knee problem and he was trying to work through that. And it would have been nice if he would have come out of the game on his own and not given up all those runs. You know how he is. He likes to try to be the tough guy, I guess, and can't blame him for that. He is usually our stud. And so it was just disappointing that he had the bad game, that he gave up the runs, etc. etc. But let's move on to today's game. Like I said yesterday, it is Adrian Hauser against Matt Waldron. And Hauser for the Giants, he has not been that good. 7.12 ERA. Although, other than one really bad game against Miami, he's been pretty consistently mediocre. He gives up about four earned runs, three strikeouts, and two walks pretty much every game. So a couple too many base runners, maybe, but it was his best game by far. So you wonder if he's going to be able to duplicate that? Probably not, but we'll see. And he's going up against Matt Waldron, who is kind of an interesting character. He's kind of a fringe big leaguer. He's never really been up to the big leagues that much a couple games a couple years ago, I think one last year. And this year he's been into three games. He actually started the season on the IL. He's had a pretty bad start to the year, a 9.88 ERA, three tough outings, six earned runs, six earned runs, and three earned runs. He is a knuckleballer, and that could be trouble for the Giants because you know, knuckleballers, if they get in the groove, they're tough to hit. You know, they get guys in the rocking chair, they throw that little slow knuckleball up there, and then they come back with the fastball. And if the knuckleball is working and it's dancing around, it can be tough to hit. He's claiming that he's healthy and stronger. Every outing has been a little bit better. He was at 14 something ERA and then down to 11 and then down to 988. And his underlying pitching metric numbers are actually better than the ERA would suggest. So he might be better than what we're expecting given that ERA and the three outings that he's had so far. It should be fun to watch. I'm glad I'm going to be there because he tends to give up hits and walks and doesn't have that many strikeouts. So though I'm hoping that there's going to be a lot of action on the base paths between him and Hauser. So I'm expecting hits, I'm expecting runs, and I'm hoping it's like the last game that I attended in which the Giants won. So let's take all that quickly and get right to today's safe bet of the day. And at first, I mean I didn't know the lines last night. I was thinking I'm just gonna go with the Giants money line and the over because I'm hoping it's a high-scoring game and I'm gonna be at the game, so I'm gonna be polling for the Giants. So this is gonna be, but then this morning when I looked, the over-under was eight and a half instead of seven and a half or eight. So that seems a little bit high. The money line is actually juiced to the Padres at minus 112. The Giants are minus 107, but I'm gonna make that the safe play of the day, uh safe bet of the day because I'm gonna be at the game. I'm gonna be pulling for the Giants. So it is a strictly homer-ish pick. I'll admit it right here off the bat. I wouldn't be surprised or disappointed if you didn't put it in. You might want to find something a little better. But that's what we're gonna go with today. Giants Moneyline, minus 107. It's gonna, I mean, the books have it figured out to be a pretty even game, and Waldron is quite the I don't know, the wild card, not quite sure what he's gonna be like. Same with Hauser, actually. So it'll be an interesting game. I'm kind of glad I'm gonna be there. For today's song of the day, it is gonna be another newer artist, and this was from, I think this was from Aiden's playlist, and it's by Sabrina Carpenter, and it's a song called Looking at Me. Now it's off an album a couple, maybe a couple years ago, but it's got a really nice kind of Brazilian flair. I really like it, you'll like it. So that'll be the song of the day, Looking at Me by Sabrina Carpenter. And for tomorrow, there is no game tomorrow. Giants have the day off. Hopefully, they can clear their heads a bit. They come back Friday to face the Pirates. So we will be reading on the Giants today. I will be in section 304. Enjoy the day off tomorrow. We will be back Friday to talk about this game that I'm heading to now, and we will look at the upcoming Pirates series. So, with that, be safe out there and go, Gigantes!
